Boosting Email Marketing Campaigns with MailChimp and AI

As a digital marketing educator, I’m a firm believer in walking the walk, not just talking the talk. So, when I took some time off, I put my teachings to the test, experimenting with email marketing strategies for my husband’s legal business. Who needs a beach when you’ve got the thrill of conquering inboxes?

It’s funny how when I ask my students if they open emails from businesses, the answer is typically “NO.” But with the right approach, we can turn that “NO” into a resounding “YES!” Here’s what I confirmed during my “working vacation,” focusing on email marketing campaigns promoting webinars on job search strategies in 2023.

Turning “NO” into “YES”

1️⃣ The audience list is key: A well-curated list of genuinely interested subscribers is crucial for a successful campaign. MailChimp’s feature, which allows you to divide subscribers into different groups based on specific criteria, is great for sending targeted campaigns to each group.
2️⃣ Being specific in communication: Our emails clearly outlined the webinar’s objectives and the benefits of using ChatGPT for job seekers. Emphasising the practical takeaways from the webinar, such as actionable tips and tools for job search, made our emails irresistible 🙂
3️⃣ Presenting concise and well-structured information: Crafting easily digestible content increased the likelihood that the audience would engage with the email and click on the call-to-action.
4️⃣ Harnessing the power of AI: Using tools like Copy.ai not only helped draft our emails but also allowed us to select the language to write our copy, saving a lot of time and making our campaigns accessible to a wider audience.

📈 The results speak for themselves: Our campaign promoting webinars on job search in New Zealand and the use of ChatGPT for resume building achieved a staggering 30.6% click rate, significantly outperforming both the company’s average (24.7%) and the industry benchmark (9.1%). To top it off, one of the recipients even replied to our newsletter!
